Currently, Shopify Shipping only supports Evri and DPD in the UK, but offers merchants discounted rates when using each of these two shipping providers. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the set-up process, the calculation of shipping costs, and how to send items using Shopify Shipping.

How To Set Up Shopify Shipping

Shopify Shipping is easy from the get-go, as there’s no installation required. As long as you’re in an eligible country (the UK, US, Canada, Australia, France, Italy or Spain), Shopify Shipping settings will appear by default in your Shopify admin. Simply go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Shipping and Delivery’.

Here you’ll be able to configure shipping options for your customers, including which services you offer and the fees you charge them. You’ll also see a dedicated Shopify Shipping section which shows you the services available, and a calculator which allows you to calculate shipping rates from those services. 

How To Calculate Shipping Costs

From the Shopify Shipping section, click ‘calculate shipping rates’ to do exactly that. You’ll be presented with a form from within which you can specify where you’ll be shipping from, where you’ll be shipping to, and package dimensions. 

Upon entering those details, you can calculate rates for each of the options available, with prices and time frames displayed. You’ll then be able to create shipping labels by clicking the button at the bottom of this pane. 

How To Send Your Parcels

Once you’ve clicked the ‘create shipping labels’ button, you’ll be taken to the orders section of your Shopify admin. Here you’ll be able to buy up to 100 shipping labels in bulk, by highlighting the orders you wish to dispatch. 

Select the orders, click ‘create shipping labels’, and get your printer ready. You’ll be given rates for the shipping options available and the option to pay for them. Once paid, you’ll be able to download and print your packing slips and shipping labels. 

Box up your items, affix your labels, and get ready to dispatch. Depending upon the courier you choose, they’ll either arrange a collection from your premises or you’ll be asked to drop them off at a designated local drop-off point.

And there you have it. Shopify Shipping makes postage and delivery easy and straightforward. Calculate shipping rates and generate labels all without leaving your Shopify admin.
